Strategy & Consulting Partner, Advisory Practice
Role:
The Strategy & Consulting Partner is a crucial role that will enable us to scale the VAM workshops, and consequently our work with entrepreneurs. Specifically, this entails:
- Presenting the fundamental VAM framework to workshop participants
- Serving as the Master of Ceremonies for each VAM workshop
- Coordinating with our workshop team and events team to ensure smooth workshop operations
- Reviewing ‘pre-work’ from attendees and determining key questions, a hypothesized constraint, and potential action steps for the client business
- Consulting individually with attendee businesses in round-table sessions during the workshop
- Maintaining relationships with client businesses throughout the lifetime of their relationship with Acquisition.com
- Building the ‘operating system’ to enable our team to host and conduct VAM workshops at scale
This role demands a mastery level of business acumen, presentation skills, on-the-spot problem-solving, and leadership. To be successful, you must have a passion for teaching others; consulting with businesses; and running a fast-scaling business line (our training division).

Responsibilities:
External
- Present during our workshops to outline the fundamentals of the VAM, and collaborate with the team in the iteration of those presentations.
- Serve as ‘Master of Ceremonies’ for VAM workshops, working with our event team to ensure a consistent, high quality experience for attendees
- Work with our operations and workshop concierge team to set expectations with, and collect pre-work from, attending businesses in advance of workshops
- Develop a rapid growth strategy for attending businesses–identifying constraints, determining solutions, and breaking those solutions down into tactical steps
- Lead roundtable discussions with groups of attending businesses, including ‘spotlighting’ businesses for live problem-solving
- Answer questions and serve as a trusted partner and subject matter expert for workshop participants.
- Serve as the ‘champion’ for client experience–ensuring that we go above and beyond to deliver an incredible experience for clients
- Lead the creation of activities, collateral, and playbooks to drive increased impact for workshop participants
Internal
- Collaborate with workshop leadership to ensure updates to training materials and content
- Train a team of subject matter experts to support scaling VAM workshops (including topics related to determining business strategy, conducting workshop roundtables, and driving client experience)
- Build the systems and teams to ensure we have proper workshop operations and curriculum in place
- Develop operational assets–SOPs, email sequences, pre-work forms–to support scaling VAM workshops
- Monitor workshop performance and iterate on workshop experience
Results:
- Create and deliver world-class presentations consistently during workshops
- Deliver an exceptional experience to workshop attendees, in support of our standard of excellence in conducting workshops (our target NPS score for attendees is 85%+)
- Inspire workshop attendees to attend more Acquisition.com workshops and also refer friends or others to attend (target renewal rate is 80%+)
- Track impact and results from participating client businesses (target growth rate for attending businesses should be at least $250k per business on average)
- Motivate and empower peers and teammates to deliver presentations and consulting to our attendees.
- Uphold company values and culture in all interactions with workshop participants.
Requirements:
- Broad business experience and expertise
- Must demonstrate an ‘elite’ level of business leadership (e.g., either top-tier MBA + top-tier management consulting experience; experience founding, scaling, and exiting a company with $15M+ in annual revenue; experience sourcing, screening, and driving value creation in an operationally-focused private-equity group)
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, startup-like environment preferred
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, especially for a business owner audience
- Comfort speaking in front of large audiences with poise, grace, and authority
- Strong influencing ability–capable of quickly understanding and overcoming objections or blockers from workshop attendees
- High emotional intelligence with a willingness to develop deep interpersonal relationships
- Strong business acumen with the confidence and knowledge to teach others
- Demonstrated experience as a creative problem solver with the ability to structure complex issues quick and with deep proficiency
- Comfortable with ambiguity and adaptable to a fast-changing environment–willing to both take direction and play a leadership role as needed
- Demonstrated integrity and dedication to effective, efficient delivery of objectives.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work autonomously.
- Located in or willing to relocate to Las Vegas
Salary:
- $230k-$250k base + up to 75% bonus based on workshop performance
- The salary range may be inclusive of several levels that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be based on a number of factors including, level, relevant prior experience, skills, and expertise. This range is only inclusive of base salary, not benefits (more details below).

Relocation Assistance:
- We know that great talent comes from all over, so we're here to help you make the move. For this role, we offer $10,000–$15,000 in relocation support, plus up to 3 months of temporary housing (capped at $10,000).
