Role
The Social Media Manager, Short-Form Content, is a leader responsible for developing and leading a high-performance short-form content strategy across multiple platforms for hundreds of millions of people.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping our approach to short-form content, working directly with the creative teams behind Alex and Leila’s brands. Your focus will be on strategic leadership, hands-on creative oversight, and performance-driven content execution. This means you’ll oversee a team of editors, refine and implement a structured workflow, and ensure our content maintains a consistent, high-impact presence across platforms.

This role supports both, and requires a balance of creativity, operational excellence, management skills, and analytical thinking. You will track performance data, iterate based on audience insights, and manage creative individuals to ensure the content strategy aligns with broader business objectives.

Responsibilities
Editing & Creative Leadership
- Contribute to edits and graphic design as a hands-on leader, not just directing but actively creating content when necessary
- Provide structured revision notes to team members to reinforce a culture of constructive feedback and continuous quality improvement.
- Ensure all edits maintain a high standard of value, consistency, and engagement, aligned with the brand’s creative vision and platform best practices.
Content Strategy & Performance Optimization
- Define and oversee the short-form content strategy, ensuring clarity in content buckets, themes, and objectives.
- Track performance metrics and analyze retention data to assess content success and iterate on strategy.
- Pay close attention to audience engagement, comments, and feedback across platforms to identify trends and opportunities for strategic pivots.
- Conduct regular outlier and industry research to stay informed on platform updates, emerging trends, and new tools that enhance content performance.
- Monitor platform performance and adjust the content strategy accordingly to optimize cadence, format, and engagement.
Pre-Production & Logistics
- Coordinate shorts filming sessions with the Shorts Strategists, ensuring seamless execution from concept to shoot.
- Ensure pre-production is well-organized, including script planning, shot lists, and talent coordination.
- Check in with team before shoots, guaranteeing that key stakeholders, including editors, strategists, and creative directors, are fully prepared.
Team Management & Process Optimization
- Lead and develop a team of short-form editors, strategists, and direct reports to scale output efficiently.
- Implement efficient workflows and automation, optimizing the team’s ability to produce content at scale and speed.
- Create and maintain structured onboarding flows for new team members to ensure they ramp up quickly and effectively.
- Hold weekly strategy meetings with key stakeholders to refine direction and execution.
Results
- Short-form platforms maintain a consistent posting schedule across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and Snapchat with high standards of quantity and quality
- A well-defined strategy is established, with clear content buckets, themes, and direction.
- The team operates with an efficient and scalable process for pulling assets, editing, reviewing, and scheduling content.
- Pre-production processes are streamlined, ensuring smooth and effective shoots.
- New team members are successfully onboarded, contributing to content creation quickly and efficiently.
- Performance data is regularly analyzed and applied to iterate and improve content strategy.
- Strategic adjustments are made based on platform trends, audience engagement, and data insights.
- Quarterly MITs (Most Important Tasks) and platform growth metrics are met.
Requirements
- Proven experience scaling content across multiple short-form platforms, not just one.
- Experience working with educational content
- Strong skills in video editing, motion graphics, and content creation.
- In depth experience with tools like Premiere Pro, CapCut, and Photoshop.
- Experience leading and mentoring a high-performance creative team with multiple editors.
- Ability to track and analyze data-driven insights to optimize content performance.
- Coachability and adaptability to learn and implement the brand’s content style.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple stakeholders, deadlines, and projects efficiently.
- Effective communication and leadership skills to provide clear direction and feedback to the team.
- Strategic thinking to allocate resources and prioritize tasks for maximum impact.
- Understanding of the intersection between AI and content creation are a plus
- Advanced spreadsheet and data analysis skills to track performance are a plus
Salary
- $110,000 to $140,000
