Director of Sales
Role
This role will be directly working for a Portfolio Company. We’re seeking a results-driven leader to oversee and drive the sales department to new heights. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of sales dynamics and the ability to build and maintain a high-performing team.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Motivation
- Foster a cohesive team environment, promoting collaboration and friendly competition
- Develop and implement effective incentive schemes to encourage peak performance
- Provide recognition for outstanding work and support for underperforming team members
Strategic Planning and Execution
- Transform executive-level goals into actionable plans to drive results
- Collaborate with marketing to develop lead-generation strategies
- Forecast hiring needs and oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training processes
- Performance Management
Track and analyze sales metrics, sharing insights with the executive team
- Ensure each team member meets or exceeds quota expectations
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Maintain open lines of communication with other departments
- Stay attuned to customer needs and preferences, updating strategies accordingly
Success Metrics
- Timely submission of weekly sales reports to the executive team
- Sales managers meeting or exceeding performance standards
- Individual sales team members achieving quota targets
- Maintaining a 30% closure rate for consultations
- Upholding company values and culture across the sales team
Requirements
- 4+ years of director-level leadership experience
- 2+ years of B2B sales experience
- Strong self-motivation and time management skills
- Proven track record in building high-performing sales teams
- Excellent communication skills, both within the team and cross-departmentally
- Ability to effectively convey strategies and recommendations to senior leadership
- Quick learner with a focus on high-level execution
- Experience in developing and improving KPIs and SOPs
- Skilled in handling difficult customer situations and de-escalating conflicts
- Proficient in managing remote teams
Reports:
Director of Operations
Salary
- $100,000-$120,000 base
- Expected OTE: $180,000 (uncapped bonus potential)
Location
- Remote, USA, preferably in Central Time
- Available Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm CST, with flexibility for additional hours as needed
